By accessing or using Convertlo ("the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.

02 Description of service

Convertlo is a free, browser-based file conversion and compression tool. It allows you to convert files between various formats — including images, documents, and audio — entirely within your web browser. No files are transmitted to our servers.

We provide this service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time without notice.

03 Permitted use

You may use Convertlo for personal, educational, or commercial purposes, subject to these terms. You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to disrupt, overload, or damage the Service or its infrastructure
  • Not use automated tools or bots to scrape or abuse the Service
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate the Service for competitive purposes
  • Not misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us

04 Your files and content

Because all file processing occurs entirely within your browser, we do not receive, store, or access any files you convert or compress using Convertlo. You retain full ownership of your files at all times.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that:

  • You have the legal right to convert or process the files you upload
  • Your files do not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Your use of converted files complies with applicable laws

We accept no liability for how you use the files you process using Convertlo.

05 Intellectual property

The Convertlo name, logo, website design, and underlying code are owned by Convertlo and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without our written permission.

The open-source libraries used by Convertlo (jsPDF, mammoth.js, PapaParse, SheetJS, fflate) are subject to their respective open-source licences and are not owned by us.

06 Advertising

Convertlo is free to use and is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. By using the Service, you agree to the display of advertisements. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. For more information on how advertising data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.

07 Disclaimer of warranties

Convertlo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
  • Conversion results will be perfect or suitable for your specific needs
  • The Service will be compatible with all browsers, devices, or file types
  • Any errors or bugs will be corrected

08 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Convertlo and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or files
  • Corrupted or incorrect conversion output
  • Any business losses or lost profits
  • Any damages resulting from third-party advertisements

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed £100 (or equivalent in your local currency).

09 Third-party links and services

Convertlo may contain links to third-party websites or load third-party JavaScript libraries from CDN providers. These are provided for convenience only. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or reliability of any third-party services.

10 Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice — including if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Since no account is required, there is nothing to delete.

11 Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Convertlo operates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
