Common questions
Yes, completely safe. All conversions happen entirely inside your browser — your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to any server. We have no access to your files whatsoever.
Most errors are caused by unsupported file types, corrupted files, or browser compatibility issues. Try refreshing the page and using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox work best). If the issue persists, please send us the file type and browser details using the form above.
We add new conversion routes regularly. Because everything runs in the browser, we're limited to formats supported by browser APIs and open-source JavaScript libraries. Submit a feature request above and we'll look into it!
Yes, completely free with no limits. Convertlo is supported by non-intrusive advertising. There are no hidden costs, no sign-up required, and no usage limits.
Browsers can decode many audio formats (MP3, AAC, OGG, FLAC) using the Web Audio API, but encoding back to compressed formats like MP3 requires native codecs not available in browsers. WAV is uncompressed PCM audio — the only format browsers can reliably write. For lossy output, use our compress tool after converting to WAV.
