Privacy Policy

Convertlo is a free, browser-based file conversion tool. All file processing happens entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers — we cannot see, access, or store them. Separately, this site uses analytics and advertising tools that may collect usage data and set cookies, as described below.

1. Information we collect

You do not need an account to use Convertlo, and we do not ask for your name to run a conversion. We also do not receive your files. That is not the same as collecting nothing.

When you visit the site, we and our partners may collect:

Usage data — pages viewed, time on page, and similar interaction events (Google Analytics)
Technical data — browser type, device type, operating system, screen size, and approximate location derived from IP address (country-level, not a street address)
Cookies, pixels, and similar identifiers — small files or tags stored on or read from your device by us and by advertising or analytics partners (see Sections 3–5). Under some privacy laws these identifiers can be personal data.
Messages you send us — if you email mumarai344@gmail.com or use the contact form, we receive whatever you include (typically an email address and the message)

We do not upload, receive, or store the contents of files you convert. Conversion history stays in your browser's localStorage unless you clear it.

2. How your files are processed

All conversions and compressions on Convertlo happen 100% inside your browser using built-in browser technologies (Canvas API, Web Audio API, and open-source JavaScript libraries). This means:

Your files never leave your device
We have no access to your file names, file contents, or converted output
Nothing is stored on our servers — because we don't use any
Your conversion history is stored only in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to us

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Convertlo. This helps us improve the tool. Google Analytics may collect page views, session duration, device type, and an identifier stored in a cookie. This data is processed by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

4. Meta (Facebook) Pixel

Some pages, including the homepage, load the Meta Pixel (also called the Facebook Pixel). It is a small script from Meta that can set or read cookies and similar identifiers in your browser, and can send Meta events such as that a page was viewed.

We use it to measure visits and, where Meta allows, to help show or measure ads on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta properties. That means it can be advertising-related, not only a visitor counter. Meta may combine this with information it already has about your Meta account, in line with Meta's own policies.

To opt out or limit this:

Block third-party cookies in your browser, or use a tracker-blocking extension — this may also affect other features on the web

5. Advertising and cookies

Convertlo is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google AdSense may use cookies, web beacons, and IP addresses to serve and measure ads, including ads based on prior visits to this site or other sites.

Specifically, Google may use:

Cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites
The DoubleClick cookie to serve interest-based ads across the web
Device identifiers and IP addresses to help measure ad performance

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.

6. Third-party libraries

Some conversions load open-source JavaScript libraries on demand from trusted CDN providers (jsDelivr, Cloudflare). These libraries run entirely in your browser and do not transmit your file data. The libraries we use include:

jsPDF — PDF generation
mammoth.js — DOCX reading
PapaParse — CSV parsing
SheetJS — XLSX generation
fflate — ZIP creation

7. Data retention

Converted files are not sent to us, so there is no file archive on our side to retain or delete. Usage, advertising, and pixel data are held by Google and Meta under their own retention rules, not in a Convertlo user database. Email you send to us is kept only as long as needed to reply or keep a record of the request. Your local conversion history (browser localStorage) can be cleared with "Clear all" on the homepage, or by clearing site data in your browser.

8. Children's privacy

Convertlo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
