MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and 3GP, including phone videos and files the browser itself cannot play (such as HEVC on Chrome for Windows). By default the clip keeps the original format; you can also save it as MP4 or as a GIF.

You choose. A fast cut copies the video and starts at the nearest keyframe at or before your start time — usually within a second or two on a phone video. An exact cut re-encodes and is accurate to the frame. When keyframes are more than three seconds from where they are needed, a fast cut switches to exact and tells you.

There is no fixed limit, but the whole video is held in your browser's memory, so a phone handles a few hundred MB comfortably and a computer more. A fast cut takes seconds at any size; an exact cut takes about as long as the clip, or longer on a phone.

A fast cut has no quality loss at all — the video is copied, not re-encoded. An exact cut, a turned video and a GIF are re-encoded; at the settings used the difference is hard to see, and a GIF is limited to 256 colours, as every GIF is.
